Capitect provides advisors the ability to define their own asset classes and sub-asset classes.
Morningstar mapping is the default asset class view. These asset classifications can not be customized because they are defined by Morningstar. You can create your own asset classes and map Morningstar categories or individual securities to them.
Defining a new asset class
From Settings → Asset Classes → Click 'Add Set +'.
Name
Provide a name for the asset class set. An advisor may set up more than one custom asset class set where the name can help summarize which asset class set is desired for display. Also, note the 'Default Set' box. Checking this box will show the custom asset class set by default instead of Morningstar asset classes.
Asset Classes
- 'Add Asset Class +' provides the ability to define your asset class hierarchy and allow you to continue adding additional asset classes.
- Click on the 'Add Child +' link to add sub-asset classes.
- Click 'Delete' to remove any asset class or sub-asset class.
